NUS Students braved the scorching sun to turn up in full force for Rag Day 2009 at the Sports and Recreation Centre on Aug. 8.

Presided over by the NUS Chancellor, His Excellency President S R Nathan, the stage was finally set for the competing faculties and halls of residences to showcase their innovative works of art after three months of sweat and sacrifice, and they did not disappoint.

The colourful assortment of floats paraded around the field was complemented by a sea of relentlessly cheering students decked in the colours of their respective faculty or hall. It was a sight not to be missed. Facing stiff competition, the School of Business was crowned the Overall Champion for Faculty Clubs while Kent Ridge Hall took the plaudits for emerging as the Overall Champion for Halls of Residence.

The Observer presents a taste of the proceedings for those who missed the fun.
